Before you ask
Do I need any experience?+
No. Most students have never mixed epoxy. If you can run a roller and follow a recipe, the class gets you the rest. Experienced painters and concrete guys move faster on the business side.
How much money do I need to start?+
A first garage floor takes about $650 in materials and a rented or borrowed grinder. Most students book their first job before they buy equipment, then buy from the deposit.
Is there financing for the class or equipment?+
Yes for equipment through our partner lenders. For the class we take cards and can split payment over two dates. Call us and ask.
Do you teach in Spanish?+
Yes. Every fourth class is taught fully in Spanish, roughly every two months. Every date on this site shows the language.
What if I sign up and can't make the date?+
Move to any later date free, up to 7 days before class. Classes run every two weeks, so there is always another one close by.
Do I have to be from Iowa?+
No. Students drive and fly in from across the country. The class is held in Clive, just outside Des Moines, about 15 minutes from the airport, with hotels nearby. Concrete is concrete: everything you learn works anywhere.
Do you sell the product too?+
Yes. XPS Xpress Des Moines is a supply store in Clive. Students get contractor pricing on their first order, and the trainers use the exact products you will buy.
